Waiting for the next Proxinvest annual report on Management Compensation, the news agency AEF Sustainable Development at Amundi organized a symposium on “Say on Pay, soft law” versus traditional law.
A roundtable on compensation was led by Ana Lutzky hosting Denis Ranque,Chairman of the AFEP-MEDEF Higher Committee for Corporate Governance and Chairman of the Board of Airbus Group, Charles Sarrazin, head of financial stability Office, accounting and corporate governance at the French Treasury, Pierre-Henri Leroy, Chairman of Proxinvest and Cédric Laverie, head of corporate governance at the giant asset management firm Amundi.
Pierre-Henri Leroy while recognizing the progressof the AFEP-MEDEF Code implementation has drawn attention to the limitations of an issuer biased code, sometimes confusing mandatory andoptional recommendations and of an excessive time taken by the French regulator AMF for the soft law compliance at the expense of any rigorous implementation of the existing hard law, as argue d by the ECGS for the European Commission .
